Therapy Support Worker/Support Worker (Carlton, Nottingham)

Job Title: Therapy Support Worker/Support Worker

Location: Carlton, Nottingham

Salary: £16.00 per hour  

Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 15:00-20:00 and Saturday 10:00-18:00

Person specification/skills: We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and reliable individual, who has a positive outlook to work with our client. We particularly welcome applications from people with experience in working with children and in care. Experience working in brain injury or rehabilitation would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided to applicant with an aptitude for care. You will be working with our 14-year-old client to develop his independent living skills and improve his quality of life in his family home and community within the Carlton area of Nottingham.

DUTIES:

Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with activities of daily living.
  • Picking up from school.
  • Using public transport.
  • Accompanying to social events/activities.
  • Providing carry over of therapy programmes.
  • Working alongside therapists.
  • Helping to reach their goals.
  • Support with some personal care.
  • Support client in his home environment.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications: 

NVQ level 2 or equivalent or care certificate or willing to complete the care certificate.

Experience:

  • Professional and reliable.
  • Experience of working with children with cerebral palsy.
  • Working within a family environment.

Special Requirements:

  • Car driver essential.
  • Male support worker required.
