Family Help/Night Nanny (Gloucestershire, GL54)

Job Title: Family Help/Night Nanny

Location: Gloucestershire (GL54)

Salary: Daytime hours: £16 per hour, overnight hours: £20 per hour

Hours: 7pm – 7am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (waking nights), 36 hours per week

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic, reliable individual, who has a positive outlook, to work within our team. You will be supporting our client in his home within the Gloucestershire area. You will be working with a 13-year-old boy who enjoys being busy, active, and trying new activities. The role offers a friendly and fully adapted, working environment, supportive team, and generous rates of pay.

We would consider job share for candidates seeking less hours. Additional hours are available to cover staff holidays/sickness and to provide additional support in the school holidays.

DUTIES

Your duties will include:

  • Enabling the client to make the most of his independence in all tasks
  • Initiating a range of fun and stimulating activities and supporting him with these
  • Providing personal care
  • Finding suitable local activities and planning trips out
  • Providing therapeutic activities, such as those recommended by physiotherapist to develop skills
  • Helping to develop his skills, such as expanding his vocabulary and developing his mobility
  • Liaising with family and support team
  • Completing household tasks, such as ironing and laundry

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience: We particularly welcome applications from people with experience in care, therapy or education.

Skills: Able to provide high standard of personal care, proactive, good communicator, able to work on own initiative, organised and reliable.

Support Worker (Ripley, Derby)

Job Title: Support Worker   

Location: Ripley, Derbyshire

Salary: Above minimum wage

Hours:  Part time hours plus holiday cover

Shift and schedule – Wednesday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-5pm

Due to the nature of the role the candidate must be female.

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic, punctual, reliable, patient and motivated individual, who has a positive outlook to work within our team. They will be required to support our client in her home and the community. You will be working with a client in her early 50’s who enjoys socialising, attending pottery, gardening, art and crafts, shopping and spending time with her family.

The client also has a dog that she enjoys walking.

DUTIES:

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting the client to attend social groups and community activities.
  • Supporting the client with all aspects of home management.
  • Supporting the client to cook family meals.
  • Liaise with the case manager and family
  • Providing physical support, which will include helping with household tasks.
  • Providing emotional support for an individual and their families.
  • Complete daily records.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications:  Care certificate and NVQ would be an advantage but not essential.

Experience: We particularly welcome applications from people with experience or knowledge of Acquired Brain Injuries.

Skills: Excellent communication skills, excellent observational skills to identify signs of physical and emotional problems, the ability to stay calm and in control in difficult situations and to be able to work within a family setting.

Special Requirements: Car driver essential, comfortable with animals, especially dogs.
